Liam Wright is the playboy at college. He’s part of the screw-crew.
It’s better to stay away from him, but you can’t tell your heart what to want.
He’ll judge me.
He won’t understand.
It’s easy to judge someone because of their past. I’m scared Liam will be just like all the other people. But he doesn’t judge me. He comes into my life and refuses to leave. He doesn’t give up on me.
He helps me accept the guilt that lives inside of me, because it also lives inside of him.
We’re both damaged by the past.
We’re both looking for someone who will understand.
We’re both looking for someone we can surrender to.
But it’s hard surrendering all your broken pieces.
“Some feathers will fall along the way, but new ones will always grow back. It doesn’t make the old feathers less important because they kept you flying for so long – they kept you alive.”

Release Blitz & Giveaway - A Touch of Lust by Michelle Horst

Title: A Touch of Lust
Series: A Feather’s Touch #1
Author: Michelle Horst
Genre: Romance
Release Date: February 2, 2017

Blurb
MILA
The way of the commune is the only way I know. Born into sin, I have to repent daily.
If we follow the laws of the Brothers, our sins will be forgiven, and they will take us with them to The Promised Land. All I have been taught is that I’m bad, shameful and a whore.
But, in the deepest part of my heart I can’t help but wonder about life. Is the way of The Order really the only way?
I listen to the teachings. I watch my sisters as they dutifully do what they’re told.
With every passing day I can feel my faith slipping away. How can I believe in something that feels so wrong? I feel like an outsider.
I feel like I don’t belong anywhere until I meet Liam. The first man to show me what love is turns out to be just like the rest of them.
I’m done putting my faith in men. I’ll save myself.

LIAM
Cults – I have this intense hunger for revenge against them.
Because of them, my sister took her own life.
Instead of getting my revenge, I get Mila. She changes things. But when I begin to unravel the secrets of her past that revenge comes back. I can’t forgive her for belonging to a cult. I blame her.
There’s only one problem, somehow that love I felt for her is coming back and my hate is turning to lust.
In the end I’m the one who needs saving.

Excerpt
My first instinct is to cover myself, but the scorching look in his eyes makes me stand still.
My conscience screams at me that this is wrong, but it’s quickly silenced by the sinner in me.
“Don’t look at me like I’m your ticket to the promised land, babe. I’ll only lead you to hell.”
Heat spreads through my body and tiny tongues of desire lick at my skin.
“You make me want to be a bad girl,” I whisper. My voice is hoarse with sinful need.
I want to feel his touch. I want to be defiled by him.

All my life I’ve been hiding, until there is no corner on this god-forsaken earth left for me to hide. I have to pay for the sins of my father. No one with Ellison blood in their veins is allowed to live, and I am the last of my bloodline.

I don’t know which is worse, the death sentence hanging over my head, or being at his mercy.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was hooked on this book from page 1. This book comes with a warning that should not be over looked on dark and sensitive subjects. This book may be hard for some to read but for myself I can handle the dark and the raw subjects. This on was all of that and it broke my heart.

Michelle can write a dark, dirty, and raw book beyond what you think. And she will suck you into the darkness but will also give you a glimmer of hope and light at the end of the tunnel.

I fell in love with both of the characters. although Cara came off as a bit naive at some parts i had to remind myself she was left by her parents at 18 and thrown into the real world on the run and by herself. Damien/Predator was cold and distant at the beginning but page after page his character started warming up. Yes there are times he reverted back to the cold demeanor but man oh man was he a hot brooding guy.

Michelle not only gives you all of that in Predator but she takes so many twists and turns you are on the edge of your seat and gasping when you find certain things out. Her characters are strong even in the weakest moments. Two broken and damaged souls find life and happiness with one another. But can they keep that happiness or does what they are running from catch up to them and tear them apart?

Excerpt

“Look at me, Cara,” and he waits until I do, “love is such a flawed thing. You can love someone but still leave them. What I feel for you goes way beyond that one word. I’m addicted to you. I feel protective of you. I breathe for you.” His eyes caress my face and follow the tears into my hair. “Love is really such a flawed word for what I feel. I live for you.”

Author Bio

Michelle Horst is from a small town in South Africa.

She's been in love with reading from an early age. She has a passion for books, quotes and animals.

She first tried her hand at writing in early 2009 and as the first words started to form into a book, she knew she was hooked.

Dreams spilled onto pages, and that was the beginning of a wonderful journey. A journey filled with joy, passion and heart stopping moments. Most of all, it's filled with such pride and peace as a story comes to life, and characters fill your life, living in the very walls of your mind, living in the minds of your readers.

Thank you to each and every reader and for choosing to escape in one of my books.

Michelle ;)
