Release Blitz & Giveaway - Sweet Surrender by Naima Simone

Sweet Surrender
by Naima Simone
Genre: Erotic Contemporary Romance
Cover Designer: Debra Glass
Release Date: August 15, 2017

Killing the messenger is frowned upon. Okay, then... What about laying the messenger on the nearest flat surface and making her scream with pleasure?

From the moment Hayden Reynolds approaches Griffin Sutherland in the local, Florida dive bar, all he can think about is fisting her dark curls and stroking those gorgeous curves. But hell would freeze over before she allowed him to touch her because she’s the woman he left behind five years earlier. And now she’s there to deliver a message—an ultimatum—from his estranged father. Blackmail forces Griffin, black sheep of his powerful Texas family, back home to play nice. But the terms of his bargain say nothing about not satisfying his need for the woman he’s never forgotten…never stopped wanting…

Hayden is no longer the naive girl who once fiercely loved a golden Sutherland and believed he and a maid's daughter could live happily ever after. Griffin broke her all those years ago, but she forced herself to pick up the pieces and move on. Now he’s back in Texas, acting the part of the proper, dutiful son. But there’s nothing proper about the detailed—dirty—descriptions of how he wants to touch her…take her… Though her body heats every time he’s near, she refuses to surrender to his special brand of passion. Griffin may have returned home, but he's leaving again. And this time he won't take her heart with him…

Author’s Note: This book was originally included in The Sutherlands anthology, published in 2016. New content has not been added to this erotic contemporary romance novella.

“You boys enjoy. Drinks on me tonight.”

She froze. That drawl. Slow, thick, and warm like the dark gold, heavy Karo syrup her mother used to pour over pan-fried cornbread when Hayden was younger. Delicious. Pure sin. And familiar. Too damn familiar.

Her heart kicked into a dull, ponderous thud in her chest. It’d been five years since she’d heard that voice. Since then it had teased her, whispered to her…seduced her.

“Open up for me, baby. That’s it. Let me fuck that pretty mouth.”
“This tight pussy is mine. Mine. Say it.”
“I could fucking die in you, baby.”

She blinked, beating back the memories that molasses-and-sex voice stirred, locking them away in the vault they’d somehow escaped from. Swallowing past the fist in her throat, she slowly rotated in the direction of the bar.

Wide shoulders and a broad chest tested the fortitude and determination of a plaid shirt stretched over a white T-shirt. Long, thick, muscular thighs encased in sturdy but worn denim. She could only catch a glimpse of his profile, but that small look revealed a man bigger, more muscled than the one in her memories. The formerly short blonde waves were now caught up in one of those pretty-boy man buns. Sure, this area of Florida could probably claim more than one Viking among its population, but only one man had ever incited the oh shit dip in her belly. Or that damn lick of heat in her veins.

Griffin.

The man had eviscerated her soul to the point that for a year after he left she hadn’t wanted to do anything but lie in a bed and disappear under the covers. Yet, her body still recognized him as the only man who’d ever made it sing like fucking Pavarotti.

God, how she hated him for it.

Hated herself for it.

But that was then. Now? She didn’t want him, didn’t need him.

Sliding from the chair once more, she straightened her shoulders, and strode toward the bar. The sooner she delivered her message to the bastard, the sooner she could call this mission accomplished and go home. Wishing she had a baby wipe to clean the scarred surface of the barstool, she slid onto it.

“Hello, Griffin.” Griffin, not Griff. Since they were no longer friends, she didn’t have the right, or the inclination, to use the shortened, more intimate version of his name.

The blond giant next to her shifted, a small smile already curving his lips. But she caught the moment recognition entered his eyes, darkening them. That sensual but polite smile fell, leaving an impassive, stoic mask she prayed to God she mimicked.

Five years had brought some changes. At twenty-five, Griffin had been leaner, with the hard, beautiful body of a man who spent time in a gym to let off steam. But at thirty, his wide shoulders that blocked out her view of the room behind him, rock solid chest and thick arms put her in the mind of someone who spent less time on a treadmill and more on the sites of his construction company. Those were sweat-and-back-breaking-labor muscles.

But some things had remained the same. The impossibly blue eyes that were all the more brilliant because of his sun-kissed skin and bright hair. The wide, almost-too-full-for-a-man mouth that saved his face, with its chiseled, elegant planes and lines, from verging into pretty boy territory. He still resembled an angel about five minutes after it’d fallen: beautiful and fresh from sinning.

No, she took that back. Now he was more like the huge, powerful, golden mythological creature he’d been named after. A gryphon. Half lion, half eagle. Fierce. Dominant. Stunning in its beauty and just as terrifying.

“Hayden,” he murmured, breaking the quiet that had grown deafening with each passing second.

Just that.

What had she expected, really? Him to fall out of his chair, delirious with joy to see her? He’d exorcised her out of his life like she hadn’t existed. That spoke volumes.

Inhaling a deep breath, she dipped her chin in acknowledgment. “It’s good to see you.”

He arched a dark brown eyebrow. “Is that right?”

The lie had pretty much scalded her tongue, and from the faint, wry twist of his lips, he’d guessed as much. “I figured it was the polite thing to say.”

“Polite.” He picked up the brown beer bottle on the bar in front of him, and tipped it to his lips, his hooded gaze remaining fixed on her. “I’d say we’re far past manners.”

Release Blitz - King of Clubs by Sandra Owens

King of Clubs
by Sandra Owens
Series: Aces & Eights, #2
Genre: Contemporary Romantic Suspense
Publisher:  Montlake Romance
Release Date: June 27, 2017

In the second novel in acclaimed author Sandra Owens’s Aces & Eights series, passions—and tempers—flare as one star-crossed couple gets a second chance at love.

Covert FBI agent Court Gentry loves his brothers, his job, and his Harley-Davidson. Once he loved a girl, too, but when she broke his heart, he put his emotions on lockdown…until she crosses his path again.

On vacation six years ago, free-spirited Lauren Montgomery fell hard for Court Gentry. She returned home happier than ever, only to descend into a spiral of abuse by her ex-husband, Stephan. When Stephan threatened to kill any man who touched her, Lauren cut Court from her life—but not from her heart.

When Lauren and Court reunite after her friend marries his brother, Court guards himself against the person who made him feel such intense passion and pain. Except the undeniable spark between them is impossible to contain and heating up fast. Six years ago, it was love. Now, it’s just lust. Keeping it merely physical is a foolproof plan…right?

When Stephan is released from prison, Lauren can’t outrun her past anymore, and Court vows to protect her. But with Lauren in imminent danger, Court must question his heart and risk his life to save the woman he never stopped loving.

He’d just stepped out of the shower, a towel wrapped around his waist, his aim his bed when Alex walked into his bedroom. Sometimes he regretted they each had keys to the three condos. Tonight, he wanted to just crawl onto his king-sized mattress and try to go to sleep, forgetting the day he’d had. Unfortunately, there was a mountain of paperwork to deal with before his debriefing in the morning.

“I’m on the way to pick up Madison,” Alex said. “Come with me. We’ll grab a late dinner.”

“No.”

“No, why?”

That was Alex for you. Never settling for an easy answer. “No because no.” He scowled when his baby brother, ignoring him, disappeared into his walk-in closet.

“Just something casual.” Alex came out, tossing a pair of jeans and a T-shirt on the bed. “Mad loves the food trucks, so probably we’ll get fish tacos.” He looked up, fucking love stars shining in his eyes. “She loves those.”

Court refused to feel jealous that Alex had found the love of his life. He’d once thought he had, but that just proved what a fool he’d been. “What part of no don’t you get?”

“Bro, you’re hurting my feelings.”

Those pitiful eyes weren’t going to work on him. Which was why, thirty minutes later, he wanted to put his hands around his own throat and choke himself when he walked alongside Alex as they approached High Tea and Black Cat Books. Damn Alex and his baby brother way of getting everyone to do what he wanted.

There was one reason, and a really big one at that, for his not wanting to be anywhere near High Tea and Black Cat Books. Her name was Lauren Montgomery. Since he’d kept that secret to himself, he couldn’t exactly blame Alex for dragging him along.

Other than Madison’s and Alex’s wedding two months ago—which no excuse for not attending would have been acceptable—he’d not seen Lauren. And even at that event, he’d avoided her as much as possible. He couldn’t go there again. Not with her. She’d almost destroyed him once. Damn if she’d do it again.

Whenever Alex mentioned that Lauren was coming over to see Madison, Court made a point of not being home on the off chance they might decide to pop down one floor to see him. The only reason he was tagging along now was that when he’d tried to use the cut on his face as an excuse to stay home, Alex had called him a crybaby.

That had resulted in a round of wrestling before Court had thrown in the towel, agreeing to come as far as the door to the bookstore before heading on over to Aces & Eights, where he’d have to hide out in the office since he was supposedly in a jail cell somewhere. That was fine since he had a ton of paperwork awaiting him, detailing what had gone down tonight, which had also given him an excuse to drive his own car.

Although the outlaw biker gangs that frequented their bar rarely made their way to South Beach’s touristy streets, Court wore a ball cap pulled low over his forehead and a pair of fake glasses.

“Why’s Madison here this late anyway?” Usually, she came home after she and Lauren closed up for the night. That the woman he hadn’t seen for six years before she’d walked back into his life and his new sister-in-law were partners in the bookstore just proved the universe was a jokester.

“She and Lauren wanted to get some restocking and other stuff done tonight.” Alex gave him a sly look. “Maybe Lauren would like to come with us.”

Court refused to take the bait. His dumbass brother was trying to play matchmaker. If he said absolutely not, that would only lead to questions he wouldn’t answer. Besides, he’d never agreed to go anywhere with them.

“No comment, huh?”

“I have no comment because I’m going straight to the bar, where I’ll bury myself in paperwork. You and Madison and Lauren can do whatever you want.”

“You used to be fun, brother. What happened to… Who the hell’s that?” Alex picked up his pace.

Court frowned at seeing a large man crowding Madison and Lauren. He jogged alongside Alex.

“Your husband isn’t pleased with you, Lauren. He expects you to be home when he arrives.”

Husband? Court came within seconds of walking away, but one glance at Lauren’s pale face and the worry in Madison’s eyes kept his feet planted in place.

“Who the hell are you?” Alex said, pushing between the man and Madison. He tucked his wife next to him. “I asked you a question.”

“Not that I owe you an answer, since my business is with Lauren, but I am simply passing on a message from my brother to his wife,” he said with a Russian accent.

“He’s not my husband,” Lauren screamed.

Court stepped next to Lauren. “You heard the lady. You need to go.”

The man’s vivid blue eyes shifted to Court. “And you are?”

“Her boyfriend.” He clamped his mouth shut. Where the hell had that come from? And worse, was Lauren’s reaction.

Blog Tour - Jack of Hearts by Sandra Owens

Jack of Hearts
by Sandra Owens
Series: Aces & Eights, #1
Genre: Contemporary Romantic Suspense
Publisher:  Montlake Romance
Release Date: February 14, 2017

Alex Gentry doesn’t scare easily. Working as an undercover FBI agent in the biker bar he and his brothers co-own, he hangs with deadly criminals in order to gather information. Danger is just part of the family business. But one thing has him terrified: his attraction to Madison Parker.

Madison is the cousin of Ramon Alonzo, son and second in command to a notorious drug lord Alex is trying to bust. Alex has befriended Ramon as part of his cover, and Madison has unknowingly become his informant. Falling for her could risk this case—and both their lives.

All Madison wants is to get her new bookstore business off the ground, and for her creepy cousin Ramon—to whom she’s unfortunately indebted—to leave her alone. If she could only stop fantasizing about his mysterious new friend, Alex…

As the Alonzo cartel investigation heats up, so does their relationship. But will the secrets they’re keeping tear them apart—or get them both killed?

Alex tapped a prearranged code on the glass, and the window immediately slid up. After stepping inside, he closed the window, locking it. It was undeniably odd to be sneaking into a woman’s room for reasons other than joining her in her bed.

They’d tried to think of a neutral place to meet, but Ramon had spies all over South Miami. Madison Parker, cousin to Ramon Alonzo, was running scared, and ever since stepping between her and Ramon when the jackass had tried to kiss her, Alex had accidentally fallen into the role of champion. Since that worked to his advantage, he’d encouraged her to contact him if Ramon ever messed with her again.

Why he was keeping her a secret from his brothers was a question he refused to examine too closely. She was a prime source for information on the Alonzo family. There was no one in the world he trusted more than Nate and Court, but he was feeling weirdly possessive where Madison was concerned. A damn red flag there. He didn’t do possessive.

The reason he’d lied to his brothers sat crossed-legged on the end of her bed, leaving the only chair in the room for him. The bedside lamp was dimmed, and in the low artificial light her fiery red hair reminded him of the flames of a campfire, changing colors whenever she moved. Her eyes almost appeared black, but in the daylight they were a captivating green. Cat eyes, he’d thought the first time they met.

He’d first laid eyes on Madison Parker three weeks ago at Ramon’s house while playing a game of pool with the man, doing his best to lose a hundred bucks. Not an easy thing when his opponent kept missing the pocket. Alex had already learned that Ramon didn’t like losing, no matter what the game was.

He quietly sighed when Ramon missed again. Alex bent over the table and lined up his cue. He was going to have to put this one in the pocket, or it would become obvious he was missing on purpose. If Alex could manage to lose to Ramon, the man would be happy and might even brag a little about his drug business.

Just as Alex pulled his arm back to take the shot, a woman walked into the room, and he hit the ball so hard that it flew over the rim of the table and hit the wall. Jesus, she was gorgeous. Red hair curling halfway down her back, green eyes, and a splash of freckles across her nose, she took his breath away. A first for him.

He liked women, maybe a little too much if you listened to his brothers, but never had he wanted to lay claim to one at first sight—until now. Who was she? She glanced from him to the dent in the wall then back at him, and full lips that wore nothing more than clear gloss lifted in a grin.

“Nice shot, Ace.”

He straightened, dropped the cue stick, and walked around the table, holding out his hand. “Hi, I’m Alex, and you are?” She put her hand in his, and he had the unsettling thought that he was never going to let it go.

Her gaze fell to their joined hands. “I’m—”

“My cousin,” Ramon said, stepping next to her and putting his arm possessively around her shoulders.

“You don’t look anything alike.” It was a stupid thing to say, but he had the urge to call Ramon a liar. If she was a member of the Alonzo family, she was off-limits, and that was a heartbreaker.

She tugged on her hand, and he reluctantly let go, then she slipped out from under Ramon’s arm. “I’m Madison Parker, and you’re very observant, Alex.”

There was mischief in those cat eyes, but it faded when Ramon wrapped his fingers around her hair and pulled her roughly back to him. She didn’t seem to like her cousin, if they were in fact cousins. Alex wasn’t sure he believed it, but he also hoped she wasn’t Ramon’s girlfriend.

“Ramon’s father and my mom are twins.”

So it was true; they were cousins. He wondered where the red hair and green eyes came from, but he reminded himself that as a family member of the man he was investigating, she was untouchable, no ifs, ands, or buts. Where that gorgeous hair and those beautiful green eyes came from was not his concern.

When she tried to pull her hair out of Ramon’s fist, Ramon’s eyes flashed with annoyance. Alex gritted his teeth and forced himself not to give Ramon a bloody nose.

She slapped at her cousin’s arm. “Ouch. That hurts, Ramon.”

As fast as a striking snake, Ramon backed her up to the wall, pressed his body against hers, and crashed his mouth down on hers. She whimpered as she tried to push him away.

Alex saw red, dark blood red. He grabbed the man’s earlobe and twisted it hard until Ramon let go of her.

“What the hell’s wrong with you?” Ramon said, rubbing his ear after Alex let go.

“She’s your damn cousin, man. The better question is, what’s wrong with you?”

Ramon looked at her and sneered. “Does she look like my cousin? I think my aunt brought the wrong baby home from the hospital.”

“I’m proud to say I got my looks from my dad,” Madison said to Alex. She swiped the back of her hand across her mouth. “The next time you touch me like that, cousin, you’re gonna want to guard your balls, because those are what my knee will aim for.” She walked out of the room with her head held high.

“Damn, she’s hot,” Ramon said, his gaze on her ass as she left.

Alex visualized how Ramon would look without teeth.
