Synopsis: For Cohen Rodriguez, getting dumped by his girlfriend was bad enough. Being told he's “not impulsive enough” was just the cheap parting gift. Still, he takes a break from his über responsible ways and dates his way through Silver Strand. Except it's not exactly turning out the way he thought... On top of that, there's Maren Walshe, whose combination of sexy and down-to-earth is everything Cohen wants in a girl. But while they've recently been talking on the phone and texting every day, they've never actually met. Now Maren wants to meet. In person. Faced with turning his oh-so-safe fantasy girl into an uncertain reality, Cohen and Maren are both about to dive head first, ready or not.
I fell in love with Cohen and Maren. This book has so much in it that you want to laugh, cry, and beat the crap out of someone. You not only deal with break-up, but also addiction, sketchy people, family issues as well as family drama.
Cohen was just dumped by the girl he thought he was going to marry who claimed he wasn't impulsive enough. But for Cohen he was honestly content with being stable, dependable, and an all around good guy.
Maren use to have a happy home until her parents divorced and her mom and sister moved out. Its just been her and her dad for the last few years. He has an addiction that he gets better from but then will turn back to his old ways. This has gone on for a while and Maren being the good hearted person she is keeps thinking things will change. they are changing but not the way they need to.
Cohen and Maren start their relationship by just communicating on the phone for work then its texting. Finally one day they meet on a double date with other people. Cohen is instantly attracted to Maren, and well Maren is attracted to him. But Cohen wants more while Maren just wants a friends with benefits no strings or commitment kind of relationship.
Can Cohen convince her to risk it all and take a chance? Does he make her see what her father is really putting her through with his addiction? This is a must read.
